How do i remove hazing from newly installed polished granite floor?
Q. I had a polished granite floor installed 3 days ago. They did not do a very good job of removing the hazing after it was grouted. There are even tiles with spots of grout on them. I was told to add baking soda to the cleaner i use to remove it. Is baking soda safe for polished granite? What will remove the haze, but still not ruin the polished finish?
Asked by Jeff - Sun Jun 20 18:28:34 2010 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. hazing is left over residue from grouting the tiles. If you do choose to tackle this yourself, I would get the floor wet by spraying it with a spray bottle and let it sit for an hour. If it is still wet I would then use a clean dry cloth to remove the residue. You could try a small out of the way area first so you will not have any scratches in the middle of your floor. After the water has been removed from the floor, you should use cheese cloth to buff off any remaining hazing. I have used this process in the past with great results. The biggest challenge with your floor is that it is a polished granite and trying to remove the haze incorrectly could dull the polish on the granite. I would not use baking soda. cheers

How do I get rid of hazing on polycarbonate drinking glasses caused from Goof Off?
Q. I couldn't wash the price tag off of the glasses, so I used Goof Off. Unfortunately, it caused hazing that has disfigured the glasses. I tried washing the hazing off with soapy water, but it didn't work. Any suggestions for getting the hazing off? Or did I ruin my new glasses?

What should you do when you witness a serious hazing?
Q. Let's say there's a hazing going on that is seriously injuring people, and you've tried to report it to school faculty but no one does anything. Should you try to break it up yourself?

A. "No." Odds that you are dealing with A GROUP of people, and you'd be making a bad situation worse, by challenging them by yourself. I would: report it to the Greek Council / Athletic Director; to the Dean; to the group's Academic Advisor .. or the local police.

Asked by Nice guy - Mon Oct 27 23:28:31 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Are you having trouble writing in the third person, writing about hazing, or both simultaneously? Well, third person means you don't use "I" or "you," so it should be just like telling your buddy what hazing is. It is just informative. Example, for which I have not looked up ANY factual information, this is purely to show you how to write it: Hazing is a ritual performed by student organizations. It is illegal in 32 states because of the high death toll among teens with which it is associated. If you have to write about a specific person or people, this can will still be in third person. Ex: Jane seems to like hazing; she is involved in it every year. Her name is always at the top of the list of hazers, and last year a girl died… [cont.]

What are the consequences for hazing in a sorority and fraternity?
Q. What are the consequences for hazing in a sorority and fraternity? name incidents of you know of hazing accidents or incidents and where one has been killed. one happened near my college PLYmouth state in 2003 where this girl named KElly nester from Coventry RI was killed.
Asked by Daniel F - Wed May 6 22:25:42 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Consequences are the hazers and hazees (because they allowed themselves to be hazed) can get jail time or /and have to pay a large amount of restitution. The AKA pledgees in Cali were made to go into the ocean, where one girl drowned and died. there was a smiliar incident involving a radio show and a contestant winning a game, where she drank so much water that she 'drowned' herself, that is a form of hazing.

A. It takes the form of trainings that are mandatory, like getting your Certificate of Contamination and completely voluntary, yet highly encouraged, events like Crossing the Line and CPO Indoctrination. The old, out of hand, destructive, hazings of the past have completely disappeared.

A. It takes less will and courage to hurt then it does not to, thus people don't like challenging themselves; too much effort. By knowing that even though no one see's you, GOD still can. A lack of fear in GOD punishment is what drives people to obey evil thoughts, instead of shunning them out of their minds. The serious, dreadful misconception that anything one does here on earth is forgiven and that their is no hell or punishment upon death.

Asked by * - Sat Aug 29 15:41:51 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I'd say it could be anything from having low self-esteem, wanting to fit in/be popular, because their parents did it, peer pressure, having no mind of their own, etc. Though a lot of people endure it because the transition from boy to man or girl to woman is not marked in modern society so some feel a longing to make the transition somehow through hazing and joining a fraternity or sorority. Why or how hazing originated is still relatively unknown because the groups that usually practice it are secretive about it. As I mentioned many people go through hazing as joining a certain fraternity/sorority being a "tradition" in a family. So it's likely that parents went through something similar. The parents/grandparents might've gone through… [cont.]

A. If this piece is finished with shellac then you need to use a method known as french polishing to restore the finish. Shellac has an alcohol base and when it gets moisture on it, it turns white or cloudy. French polishing uses alcohol to restore the original luster. check out:
